I’m so excited to be here! Fairest of the Faire was such a labor of love
for me, and it makes me happy to think people may just be lying on a beach this
summer and reading it! The beach, the
sun, a cool drink, and a good book. What
more could a romantic reader ask for?
I don’t want to keep our guests in suspense, so I’ll start
right out with a look at your new baby.

It sounds like Connie’s in a bad situation, but I have a feeling she can
handle quite a lot. If a movie was made about her story, what actress would be
your choice to play her part?
Connie might be played by someone like Sandra
Bullock, one of my personal favorites, or perhaps Felicity Jones. Connie is shy, but has a quick smile and
can’t hold in her emotions. I would
think anyone playing that role would be having a lot of fun.
I always love ‘the meeting’ scene. What was Connie’s first impression of
Gage?
Oh, he scared her to pieces! That wolfish grin, the way he held her eyes
with his, never disguising his lust for her.
She had no idea what to do with him!
She tries to hold him at arm’s length, but he is everywhere she turns,
and it doesn’t take long before she craves those lustful glances, just as he
hoped she would.
You say Gage soon had Connie in his arms and his heart. What attracted
him most about her?
Her eyes caught his attention once he stopped
staring at her body. Not green, not
blue, but somewhere in between. The
color of her eyes reminded him of the ocean.
He felt like he couldn’t look away from her gaze.
You may be surprised, but I’ve never been to a Renaissance Faire. What
made you decide to use this setting?
Oh, Sandra, you should go to one! They are wonderful places where you can spend
an afternoon in another time. There is
flirting, and all of the pomp and elegance of the King’s court, and of course,
plenty of good-looking men in kilts and armor.
It all feels so romantic and happy.
My brother hobbies as a blacksmith, and he works a regular gig at a
RenFaire. I got a lot of background
information from him for my story. There
is a lot of romance going on behind the scenes at a RenFaire, apparently!
Before we go further, I’d like to give our guests a taste of your style.
Excerpt:
“Who said anything
about a relationship?” he said, standing up so he could tower over her again.
“I’m just trying to have a little fun. You know, fun?”
If he’d been an
animal, she was sure he’d have had hair raised on the back of his neck, he
seemed so angry, and it struck her painfully. She hadn’t wanted to anger him or
hurt him. She turned away from him and closed her eyes to tamp down the tears
she knew would come if she let them. She crossed her arms over her chest, to
hold in the pain. Being tired made her much too vulnerable.
“Yes,” she finally
said. “I know about fun. Life isn’t always fun, though.”
“Princess.” His
voice was soft, tender. “I won’t hurt you. It’s not in my plan.”
Despite herself, she
felt the shivers of desire race down from her shoulders, down her arms and
legs, and back up to that secret, soft place at her core. She bowed her head
and gritted her teeth, hoping for the feeling to go away.
“And what is your
plan, Gage?”
“It’s a simple plan.
I want you to feel good. I want to feel good, too.”
