There are people on the internet named Anonymous whom I’m
developing a great dislike for.
These are people no one seems to know. They have no friends,
therefore, no joy in life. The only thing Anonymous has is internet access.
Anonymous spends the day surfing the net in search of books
they don’t want. They buy and read these books in order to find hard working
writers to pounce.
Anonymous has never found a book they like. As proof, you
can link into their other reviews to read the nasty things they say about all
the books they've read.
Examples:
- Trashy
- Sleazy
- Mindless
- Drivel
How much power should we give these people?
I think what hurts us most is when they get personal. They
have a need to openly insult a writer’s character, just because they can.
Examples:
- Idiot
- Clueless
- Slutty
- Incompetent
They have no fear of being found and receiving the punch in
the throat they deserve.
To respond to these insults we give them what they want...Attention.
Try to remember who you’re dealing with. These people are
lonely, unloved, and unhappy. No one with that much venom in their soul can be
anything else.
So what can we do?
If you've ever encountered an Anonymous, leave a comment and
tell us about it. Then, write-on fellow writers.
If you are an Anonymous, don’t bother. You will be ignored.
